If you read this in a book, you’d say the author went too far and the narrative was no longer believable:
If the gun advocates behind this year’s inaugural Gun Appreciation Day had hoped to use the day’s festivities to build support for their anti-regulation platform, they are going to have to wait another year.
[…]
A representative from Political Media, the group responsible for organizing Gun Appreciation Day, was not immediately available for comment.
This is real life.
It’s like the gun control talking points write themselves sometimes.

Bill Hicks on guns in America.
If we make it another 200, 300 even 500 years as a society future generations are sure to hold us and our time up as a lesson in insanity.

Great show.
You guys probably remember Rep. Paul Akin’s inexcusably stupid remarks about rape from last week:
From what I understand from doctors, pregnancy from rape is really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.
Akin made a non-apology apology for those remarks, claiming that he misspoke:
The mistake I made was in the words I said, not in the heart I hold.
Every time I hear one of these squirming Republican apologies, I think of this classic David Cross bit above, which is extremely NSFW and contains some very bad words indeed.
Here’s a full hour of Donald Glover’s stand-up called Weirdo. It’s fucking amazing, trust me.
You’re welcome.
