Today’s verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices. It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies. —

Phsaw. Unless you don’t believe in patents at all, this is about as clear cut as one can get. Who doesn’t remember phones before the iPhone? Who doesn’t remember the crap Samsung and Motorola put out? Some of those phones are blatant rip offs. 

How on EARTH will we have less competition now that other companies have to go think up their own shit? How on earth is it bad for the consumer to have Samsung actually trying to make something new instead?
