There are three very important elements to comedy that The Onion clearly ignored today… timing, making sure your audience feels safe, and making them feel like they are a part of the joke. Putting up two tweets with the “wink” 20 minutes apart about a gunfire at the capitol during the tenth anniversary month of 9/11 is not satire. Satire is funny.
